Safety Notice: Motorized Pit Vehicle Ban

To prioritize everyone’s safety and ensure the long-term future of our facility, we instituted a ban on ALL motorized pit vehicles on the property. Riding is now limited to track-approved dirt bikes within the fenced-in motocross track. The only exception is when traveling directly between the track and your parked vehicle, while strictly adhering to the posted 5 mph driveway speed limit. Riding in the woods or fields remains strictly prohibited.

This decision was not made lightly but is necessary due to the growing liability associated with off-track incidents. Over the years, lawsuits, settlements, and changes in insurance policies have made it increasingly challenging for motocross facilities to operate. A significant portion of these legal issues arises from accidents involving motorized vehicles in non-riding areas.

In many cases, lawsuits are driven by medical insurance providers through subrogation clauses. These incidents often involve individuals not participating in the sport—such as bystanders or pedestrians. For example, a single injury to an elderly visitor could lead to medical costs exceeding $400,000 for transport, surgery, hospitalization, and rehabilitation.

Over the past 11+ years, we’ve closely followed court cases and settlements, some of which reflect near-misses or incidents we’ve witnessed on our own property. These cases, involving both children and adults, underscore the serious risks posed by off-track vehicle use.

This proactive measure is critical for reducing risk and ensuring our facility remains open and accessible for years to come. We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we take steps to protect the safety and sustainability of our community.
